HC Deb 09 June 1986 vol 99 c39W
Mr. Snape

asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many accidents involving heavy goods vehicles have been investigated by his Department inspectors; and if he will publish the detailed conclusions in a similar manner to those published following railway accidents.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

In the period April 1985 to March 1986 the Department's vehicle inspectorate investigated 1,095 accidents involving heavy goods vehicles. The more serious or significant of these (some 30 per cent.) were subjected to detailed analysis. I have no plans to publish detailed conclusions to these investigations.
