asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his recent visit to Liverpool.

Urban programme and urban development grant schemes normally attract Exchequer grant at the rate of 75 per cent. and derelict land reclamation schemes at 100 per cent. In addition to the allocations for 1986–87 referred to, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry announced on 14 May that an additional £10 million would be made available to the northern region to help deal with prospective shipbuilding closures, including £2 million urban programme and £1 million derelict land reclamation resources.
