§ Lord GlenarthurIt has been the invariable policy of successive governments never to confirm or deny that interception of communications has been authorised in particular cases. However, the assurances given by the then Leader of the House concerning telephone tapping in relation of Members of your Lordships' House continues to apply (Official Report, 22nd November 1966, col. 122).
