HC Deb 25 July 1986 vol 102 c509W
Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Minister of Agriculture Fisheries and Food if he will specify the relationship between the derived emergency reference levels for meat, milk and vegetables, and the individual radiological doses they relate to.

Mrs. Fenner

Derived emergency reference levels, published by the National Radiological Protection board, require consideration to be given to the imposing of restrictions on consumption of water, milk and other foodstuffs when projected levels of effective dose equivalent are above 5 millisieverts in a year or projected dose equivalents to single organs exceed 50 millisieverts in a year.
