HC Deb 24 July 1986 vol 102 c367W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many cases there have been since May 1979 in which planning permission has been revoked under sections 45 and 46 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971; in how many of these compensation has been paid by the local authority, and by his Department respectively; and if he has reimbursed part or all of any compensation paid by a local authority arising out of a revocation order.

Mr. Tracey

Statistics are available only for the period from April 1979 to December 1985. In that period 993 revocation orders were confirmed by the Secretary of State. No statistics are available for unopposed orders where his confirmation was not required.

Compensation under these provisions is paid by the local planning authority, and information on amounts paid as a result is not available centrally.
