Mr. Michael Brown

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he will publish the Government's response to the eleventh report of the Royal Commission on environmental pollution, entitled, "Managing Waste: the Duty of Care."

Mr. Ridley

The Government's response will be published on 15 September. In the meantime, I have arranged for typescript copies of the response to be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
