asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he next plans to meet officials of the Educational Institute of Scotland to discuss the current teachers' dispute; and if he will make a statement.

I refer to the answer given earlier today by my right hon. and learned Friend to the hon. Member for Edinburgh, East (Mr. Strang). My right hon. and learned Friend and I are always willing to meet with any of the teachers' unions, although there are no plans to do so at present.
