§ Mr. John MacKayRepresentations have been received from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and the hon. Member for Caithness and Sutherland (Mr. Maclennan). In addition, nine members of the public have made representations either directly or through their Member of Parliament.

37. Mr. John Mark Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he next intends to meet the Forestry Commission to discuss broadleaf woodland policy.
§ Mr. John MacKayMy right hon. and learned Friend has no plans at present to meet the Forestry Commission to discuss this subject. However, as was made clear in the Government's statement of 24 July 1985 on broadleaves policy, we have asked the Forestry Commission to report regularly on the operation and effectiveness of the new measures and we shall be reviewing them after some three years.
