HC Deb 24 February 1986 vol 92 c434W
Mr. Bell

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will publish the responses he has received on the police complaints procedure, as referred to in the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Conference; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Scott

It is not our normal practice to publish responses received in respect of consultation papers. We do not intend to do so in the case of the paper on the reform of the police complaints procedures. Full account will be taken of the views of all those who responded to the consultation paper and other interested parties, in drafting the necessary legislation. We intend to publish a proposal for a draft Order in Council later this year. Interested parties will have a further opportunity to comment on the Government's proposals at that stage.
