§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in the manner of the reply to the hon. Member for Norfolk, North on 19 March, Official Report, columns 452–58, he will provide figures for expenditure by hospital authorities, analysed subjectively, for 1983–84; and if he will also publish comparable figures, at current and 1983–84 prices, and comparable percentages for 1960 and 1970.
§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkefor the analysis of expenditure in 1983–84, I refer my hon. Friend to my reply to him on 21 December 1984 at columns412–14. We are not able to present these figures in the same format as the 1960–61 and 1970–71 figures given in my reply to him on 19 March because of fundamental changes in the structure and in the accounting and reporting arrangements of the National Health Service over this long period.
