§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how he calculated the fixed rate limits for the coming financial year in respect of the Inner London education authority.
§ Mr. WaldegraveMy right hon. Friend proposed a precept limit of 74.19p for ILEA on 11 December by432W reference to the expenditure level determined for it, the block grant payable (nil in the case of ILEA) and taking account of financial reserves available to the authority. In the light of further information provided by the authority he included in the draft order setting precept limits an increased figure of 77.25p. The order was approved by the House of Commons on 6 February and came into operation on 14 February.
