§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) whether tenders were put out by his Department to sell surplus boots, uniforms and blankets from royal ordnance factory, Euxton;
(2) how many surplus Army blankets, boots and clothing items from royal ordnance factory, Euxton have been donated to charities.
§ Mr. LeeThe items concerned were included in the property passed to Royal Ordnance plc by the scheme made under the Ordnance Factories and Military Services Act 1984, a copy of which was laid before the House on 9 January. The company is responsible for its own day-to-day operation and I suggest the hon. Member writes to the chairman if he wishes to pursue inquiries about the disposal of these items.
