HC Deb 04 March 1985 vol 74 cc427-8W
Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) whether tenders were put out by his Department to sell surplus boots, uniforms and blankets from royal ordnance factory, Euxton;

(2) how many surplus Army blankets, boots and clothing items from royal ordnance factory, Euxton have been donated to charities.

Mr. Lee

The items concerned were included in the property passed to Royal Ordnance plc by the scheme made under the Ordnance Factories and Military Services Act 1984, a copy of which was laid before the House on 9 January. The company is responsible for its own day-to-day operation and I suggest the hon. Member writes to the chairman if he wishes to pursue inquiries about the disposal of these items.
