HC Deb 04 March 1985 vol 74 c363W
30. Sir David Price

asked the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts why the provision for the heritage in "The Government's Expenditure Plans" (Cmnd. 9428-II) has been set at £2 million for 1985–86; and why there is no capital provision.

Mr. Waldegrave

The heritage provision for 1985–86 is £3 million to the National heritage memorial fund and £2 million for acceptances in lieu of tax. The annual allocation of funds must depend on what can be afforded, but as the House will know, an extra £25 million is to be made available this year to the National Heritage memorial fund to meet special needs.
