HL Deb 25 July 1985 vol 466 c1450WA
Lord Orr-Ewing

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What progress has been made on revising Government forms since April 1984.

The Earl of Gowrie

Cabinet Office (MPO) recently submitted a report summarising progress on the review of administrative forms to the Prime Minister and me. The report is published today and a copy has been placed in the Library.

The report shows that over 35,100 forms in national use were reviewed last year. Over 8,900 were improved and over 6,300 abolished. Standards of best practice in design and control of government forms have been adopted which will guarantee progressively better forms in the future.
