How much heroin and cocaine was seized by the Customs and Excise in the first six months of 1985, what was its street value, and what were the comparable figures for the first six months of each year since 1977.

The provisional six-month figures for 1985 will not be available until next month. I shall ask HM Customs and Excise to write to the noble Lord then.

The volume of heroin and cocaine seized by Customs and Excise in the first six months of each year since 1977, together with its then street value, is as follows:
