§ The Solicitor-GeneralThe Lord Chancellor is concerned that he should receive accurate and prompt statistical returns from the magistrates courts on the grant and refusal of legal aid, and a more precise and simpler form of return has been introduced. The Law Society is 19W collecting statistics on applications made to the criminal legal aid committees, including applications for recourse after refusal of legal aid by magistrates' courts.
