HC Deb 28 February 1985 vol 74 c247W
21. Mr. Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will meet the Director General of the British Broadcasting Corporation to discuss broadcasting for the black community.

Mr. Giles Shaw

My right hon. and learned Friend is satisfied that through its national television and radio services, together with local radio, the BBC fulfils its undertaking to provide a properly balanced service, which includes making provision for the black community. I do not therefore see the need for a meeting with the Director General.
