18. Mr. Meadowcroft

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in the light of the Ponting case, he will make a statement on the operation of section 2 of the Official Secrets Act 1911.

Mr. Mellor

My right hon. and learned Friend has taken note of the diverse views expressed about the operation of the Act in the context of that case.

20. Mr. Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received calling for the repeal of section 2 of the Official Secrets Act 1911.

26. Mr. Yeo

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received regarding the operation of the Official Secrets Act.

35. Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many representations he has received since 11 February advocating the amendment of section 2 of the Official Secrets Act 1911.

39. Mr. Leigh

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if Her Majesty's Government will consider establishing a committee of review to re-assess the efficacy of trials by jury relating to breaches of the Official Secrets Act.
