§ Mr. Mark Carlisleasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in how many probation areas facilities are now available to enable a court to sentence a young person of 16 years to community service; and when it is expected that such facilities will be available in all areas.
§ Mr. MellorCommunity service orders may be made in respect of 16-year-old offenders in 47 probation areas. Facilities in the remaining nine areas are expected to become available by 1 April 1985.
