HC Deb 26 November 1984 vol 68 cc395-6W
Mr. Murphy

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the progress of the Organisation for Economic Co-operational Development Group on Urban Affairs following the 1983 Urban Ministers meeting; and if he will give an indication as to the sources of its current funding and the size of the contribution by Her Majesty's Government.

Mr. Kenneth Baker

Following the Ministers meeting in 1983, a programme has been established, by the OECD group on urban affairs, consisting of projects on the urban economic development, urban services, urban housing finance, urban information and monitoring and a review of Japan's urban policies. The programme is funded from block contributions made to OECD by its 25 member countries. Her Majesty's Government's contribution to the administration of the programme in 1984 is approximately £ 16,000, some 7½ per cent. of the budget.
