HC Deb 12 November 1984 vol 67 cc115-6W
Mr. Best

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will state as accurately as possible figues of those in work in Anglesey for each of the last six years; how many are full-time; how many are part-time; how many are female; and how many are self-employed.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

Information on employees in employment disaggregated to the level requested is not collected annually. The Census of Employment is now carried out triennially and the latest information available is that from the Census of Employment conducted in 1981. The figures for 1981 and 1978 are:

Employees in Employment in Anglesey
All Employees Full-time Part-time Females
June 1978 16,858 14,006 2,852 6,141
June 1981 16,437 13,070 3,367 6,256

The Census of Population in 1981 gave a figure of 3,693 for the number of self-employed at that time: information in respect of subsequent years is not available.
