HC Deb 04 May 1984 vol 59 c262W
Mr. Frank Field

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what information he has as to the number of claimants who have had their complaints over the housing benefit scheme referred to the ombudsman.

Dr. Boyson

I understand that the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration has received six complaints concerning the housing benefit scheme. Five of these have been rejected, and one is still under consideration. I also understand that the local ombudsman has received a number of complaints, most of which have been resolved without formal investigation, but that no separate record is kept of these.
