HC Deb 30 March 1984 vol 57 cc331-2W
Mr. Beggs

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many senior citizens from (a) public sector housing, and (b) private sector housing in Northern Ireland have been allocated transfers to Northern Ireland Housing Executive old people's accommodation during the last three years for which records are available.

Mr. Chris Patten

This is a matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and I understand from the chairman that information in the form requested is not readily available and could be provided only at disproportionate cost, but that the total number of elderly households rehoused between October 1982 and September 1983 was 2,855, broken down as follows:

Number
Waiting List applicants rehoused 1,673
Transfer applicants rehooused 1,182

These figures refer to all cases rehoused regardless of the accommodation allocated.
