HC Deb 27 March 1984 vol 57 c141W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he will make a decision as to whether further guidance is necessary for housing associations in addition to the guidance issued to them in November 1980.

Mr. Ancram

I hope to reach a decision on this matter shortly.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many houses of general needs housing associations there are in Edinburgh.

Mr. Ancram

Registered housing associations at present own some 2,570 general needs houses in Edinburgh, the capital cost of which was met by loans provided by the Housing Corporation. They also own some general needs houses financed by local authority lending: information on the numbers of houses provided in this way is not, however, readily available centrally in relation to particular districts.
