HC Deb 26 March 1984 vol 57 c11W
Dr. M. S. Miller

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has completed his study of the Crown Agents pension division; if he has taken into account the fact that the location of this division of the Overseas Development Administration at East Kilbride is part of the Civil Service dispersal package; if he will give an assurance that it will remain at East Kilbride and in the public sector; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Raison

The Crown Agents' pensions division at East Kilbride remains part of the Crown Agents. Much of its work is undertaken on behalf of ODA and no alteration in existing arrangements is at present contemplated. We shall consider nearer the time when privatisation of the Crown Agents takes place whether this work for ODA should remain in the public sector and, if so, how this would be arranged. In any decisions I will, of course, take fully into account the basis on which the location of the Crown Agents pensions division was moved to Scotland.
