HC Deb 21 March 1984 vol 56 cc498-9W
Mr. Proctor

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, if he will set out in the Official Report the quantities and cost of subsidised food and wine from (a) the United Kingdom and (b) the European Economic Community to the Soviet Union in each of the years 1977 to 1983.

Mr. MacGregor

The following table gives the quantities of the main agricultural commodities exported from the United Kingdom to the Soviet Union. Similar information about exports from the European Community for the years 1977 to 1982 was contained in the answer given to my hon. Friend the Member for Southend, East (Mr. Taylor) on 1 November 1983 at columns 343–44. The latest available information relating to the period January to June 1983 is given below. I should, however, point out that these figures represent the recorded exports to the Soviet Union and may include some exports that have not received export refunds.
