§ Mr. David Howellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department over what traffic areas, or parts of traffic areas, the Metropolitan police have informed him that they are affixing wheel clamps on illegally parked vehicles; and what requests he has received from the Metropolitan police that these areas, or parts of areas, should be extended.
§ Mr. HurdThe experimental wheel clamping scheme introduced in May 1983 operates in parts of the city of Westminster and parts of the royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea. We have received no requests from the Metropolitan police for the area in which the scheme operates to be extended.
