asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are the latest figures for the number of police officers injured in connection with the coal mining dispute; and what figures he has available about the number of pickets injured in the dispute.

Between 14 March and 5 July inclusive 465 police officers had been injured while policing events associated with the miners' dispute. Information about the number of other people injured is not available.
