§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many appeals on green belt development applications in the London borough of Bromley he, or his inspectors, have determined in the last 18 months; what was the decision in each of the cases; and what role the borough and the Greater London council, respectively, played in each appeal.
§ Mr. Macfarlane[pursuant to his reply, 5 July 1984, c. 263]: My Department is aware of six planning appeals involving land in the green belt in the London borough of Bromley which were decided during the past 12 months, the period for which statistics are available. All six appeals 440W were dismissed, two by the Secretary of State and four by inspectors acting on his behalf. The London borough of Bromley was the local planning authority in every case. The Greater London council was notified of each appeal by the Department, and made representations about one case in respect of which the council had issued a direction to the planning authority to refuse the original planning application.
