Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list those local authorities whose gross revenue expenditure has risen by (a) less than the rate of inflation as measured by the retail price index, (b) less than 10 per cent. above the rate of inflation and (c) less than 20 per cent. above the rate of inflation over the period of 1978–79 to 1982–83.
