HC Deb 30 January 1984 vol 53 c11W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Prime Minister, pursuant to her reply to the hon. Member for Linlithgow on 31 October, Official Report, c. 256, why the attributability certificate issued to Mrs. Pollard, widow of the late Marine Pollard, referred solely to the years 1956–57.

The Prime Minister

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to the certificate issued in respect of Mrs. Pollard in December 1980 in accordance with section 10 of the Crown Proceedings Act 1947. Mrs. Pollard's claim for compensation was related specifically to her late husband's service on Christmas Island during 1956–57; the certificate was accordingly issued in respect of that period.
