§ Mr. Kenneth Carlisle
asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many cot deaths there were in Northern Ireland in the last full year; and if he will break down the numbers to indicate deaths for each month of age.

The numbers of deaths of children in 1982 in each monthly age band up to one year, where the term "cot death" or "sudden unexpected death in infancy" or other synonym was mentioned on the death certificate, were as follows: 647W
