HC Deb 17 January 1984 vol 52 c201W
Dr. Owen

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what information he has about the percentage of family doctors in London who employ commercial deputising services for out-of-hours cover.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

At 1 October 1983 82 per cent. of general medical practitioners in the Greater London area had consent to use commercial deputising services in relation to their out-of-hours responsibilities. Information about actual use is not available centrally.
