Mr. Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the latest number and percentage rate of (a) under 25 year-olds and (b) over 45 year-olds currently registered as unemployed in each of the Huddersfield, Castleford, Pontefract, Normanton, Barnsley, Dewsbury, Wakefield and Hemsworth areas.

The following table gives, for the areas specified, the numbers of unemployed claimants aged under 25 years and aged 45 years and over on 12 January. Percentage rates of unemployment by age are only available nationally.

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the differential loss of employment in different industries weighted by the average earnings in those industries.
