HC Deb 15 February 1984 vol 54 cc217-8W
Mr. Alison

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if, in respect of the distribution by the University Grants Committee of its annual allocation of equipment grant, he will give details of the 1983–84 allocation to individual institutions and of the criteria used for determining that allocation to be used for the 1984–85 allocation.

Mr. Brooke

The University Grants Committee's allocations of equipment and furniture grant for the 1983–84 academic year, as announced on 4 March 1983, are as follows. In allocating grant each year the committee takes account for each institution of the balance and subject mix of undergraduate and postgraduate students, of the pattern of research income, and of other relevant factors including the completion of any new buildings that are to be furnished from the grant.
