§ Mr. BrookeThe Medical Research Council, which receives a grant-in-aid from the Department, has funded a programme of research into symptoms occurring in patients undergoing hysterectomy, both before and after surgery, and is at present supporting a number of projects on pain. One of these projects, on different methods of treatment of post-operative pain, although not primarily concerned with hysterectomy, is likely to be relevant to the management of pain following hysterectomy.
