HC Deb 15 February 1984 vol 54 c237W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received regarding the proposed omission of the chief nursing officer from supervisory boards; and to what effect.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

National and local nursing organisations, and some health authorities, have commented that the chief nursing officer should be a member of the Health Service Supervisory Board. We are considering their views along with other comments we have received in the course of consultations on the NHS management inquiry report.
