asked the Prime Minister when she next expects to meet the President of the French Republic.

I met Mr. Mitterrand for talks on Monday 23 January. We shall meet at the European Council in Brussels on 19 and 20 March. If we consider it necessary for the success of that Council to meet beforehand, we shall do so.
