asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many insect pests of (a) cereals, (b) potatoes, (c) apples and (d) sugar beet are now wholly or partly resistant to insecticides or acaricides cleared under the pesticides safety precautions scheme.

  1. (a) standing cereal crops—none
  2. (b) potatoes—one (peach potato aphid)
  3. (c) apples one (fruit tree red spider mite)
