HC Deb 17 December 1984 vol 70 c57W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what consideration his Department has given to the findings of the report of the nursing studies research unit at Edinburgh university on the problems faced by disabled people entering hospital; what action he is taking with regard to each of the report's recommendations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John MacKay

The Scottish Home and Health Department is at present studying this comprehensive report, and considering what action it should take with regard to the proposals for improvements made in it. It line with normal practice, the nursing research unit has made arrangements for the report to be made available to nursing interests generally. In particular, copies have been sent to the chief administrative nursing officers of all health boards. The authors are also preparing further papers on their work for wider publication in relevant professional journals.
