HC Deb 14 December 1984 vol 69 c602W
Mr. John Morris

asked the Attorney-General what statutory authority he proposes to seek for the indemnity granted to Price Waterhouse in respect of costs incurred in its role as sequestrators of the assets of the National Union of Mineworkers.

The Attorney-General

The Crown has granted the indemnity under its common law power, but Parliament is being asked to make token provision in the Consolidated Fund Bill in respect of the contingent liability assumed under the indemnity. Any payments under the indemnity would require further provision in a subsequent Consolidated Fund Act.
