HC Deb 12 December 1984 vol 69 cc514-5W
14. Mr. Terry Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what has been the effect on bilateral relations of the failure of the South African Government to return the four South African nationals who failed to answer to their bail at Coventry.

Mr. Rifkind

I strongly condemned the South African Government's action in my statement of 23 October. Their continuing failure to return the four to the United Kingdom is a factor we shall have to take into account in future bilateral dealings.

48. Mr. Hunter

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the current state of United Kingdom—South African relations.

Mr. Rifkind

I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave earlier to my hon. Friend the Member for Billericay (Mr. Proctor).
