HC Deb 12 December 1984 vol 69 cc530-1W
Mr. Evennett

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) whether his Department is able to estimate the change in traffic volume for the A206 if the east London river crossing is constructed; and if he will make a statement;

(2) whether his Department is able to estimate the change in traffic volume for the A2016 if the east London river crossing is constructed; and if he will make a statement;

(3) whether the current proposals for the east London river crossing include a location for an interchange between that road and the A2016; and if he will make a statement;

(4) whether the current proposals for the east London river crossing include a location for an interchange between that road and the A206; and if will make a statement;

(5) whether any consultation has taken place between his Department and the London borough of Bexley concerning the east London river crossing; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Chalker

The traffic data for the east London river crossing, including that on the A206 and A2016, are currently being updated and I shall let my hon. Friend have the relevant figures when these are available early next year. The proposals provide for an interchange with the A2016, but not with the A206. The London borough of Bexley has been fully consulted about the proposals and has attended presentations on them, and has had a number of discussions with my Department.
