§ Mrs. Chalker"Policy for Roads in England 1983" (Cmnd. 9059) shows the major improvements intended for the A1 (including the Newcastle western bypass and other improvements on the A69). It also shows that we are undertaking a study of further needs of the road between Dishforth and Scotch Corner in north Yorkshire.
