HC Deb 10 April 1984 vol 58 c139W
Mr. Nicholson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) how many sheltered dwellings have been built in the Newry and Armagh constituency in each of the last four years;

(2) how many sheltered dwellings are available in the Newry and Armagh constituency at present;

(3) how much has been spent on the provision of sheltered dwellings in the Newry and Armagh constituency in the last four years;

(4) what is the number of sheltered dwellings he proposes to provide in the Newry and Armagh constituency in the next five years.

Mr. Chris Patten

There are 35 units of sheltered accommodation (in purpose-built complexes with communal facilities and a permanent warden); they were built during the 1980–81 financial year, at a cost of £508,600; and a further 103 units are programmed over the next five years.
