HC Deb 10 April 1984 vol 58 c139W
Mr. Lester

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he expects Sir George Baker's review of the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act to be published; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Prior

Sir George Baker's report of his review of the operation of Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1978 is published today. I am most grateful to Sir George for the thorough way in which he has undertaken this task and for the valuable contribution his report makes. The Government are giving careful consideration to the report's recommendations. Parliament will have opportunity to express its views, and the Government will take them fully into account, as they will views expressed elsewhere.
