HC Deb 02 April 1984 vol 57 c423W
Mr. Hanley

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he intends to increase the maximum number of helicopter flights in the London control zone from 12,000 per annum and on the 20 peak days in the year from 150 flights per day; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

There are no limits on the number of helicopter flights in the London control zone. However the London borough of Wandsworth, when granting planning permission for Battersea heliport, imposed daily and annual limits on the number of movements. I understand Westland PLC has applied to the borough to continue using the heliport for a further 10 years, and seeks its approval for an increase in the number of movements permitted.
