HC Deb 24 November 1983 vol 49 c292W
36. Mr. Hardy

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total sum which he expects to receive in the current financial year from all offshore oil and gas taxation.

37. Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the tax revenue from North sea oil in 1982–83.

Mr. Ian Stewart

The total tax take from the North sea in 1982–83—that is royalties, petroleum revenue tax (including advance payments), supplementary petroleum duty and ring fence corporation tax (before ACT setoff)—was £7.8 billion. It is estimated that the total North sea tax take in 1983–84 will be £9 billion.
