§ Sir George YoungWe are concerned that legislation designed to protect tenants has, in certain respects, worked against their interests. We are, therefore, reviewing the governing legislation to see what further steps might be taken to encourage the sector to meet the demand for homes to rent. As part of this review, we are examining the progress made by the various initiatives affecting the private rented sector introduced by the Housing Act 1980.
