§ 38. Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, pursuant to the answer given by the Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts, Official Report, c. 621, 31 October, he has met the Council for British Archaeology to discuss issues arising from the case of the Hambledon iron age harness.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneI offered consultations with officers from the relevant Departments to the Council for British Archaeology. It has now been in touch, and have agreed to provide a memorandum setting out the council's objectives in the matter of portable antiquities. A meeting will be arranged as soon as possible after this is received.
